To women everywhere,
If you are about to embark upon online dating, or are in full swing, Oh Gabriel is for you. Primarily, to make you laugh. Also, so you know you’re not alone kissing all those frogs!
“I’ve had a run of disappointing matches, and then I read a few oh Gabriel stories, and had a ‘I feel better moment” – Georgina, Devon
I have been a journalist for over 14 years and live in Devon, UK. I separated from my husband of 16 years in 2019 and was inspired to set up Oh Gabriel following my internet dating experiences thereafter…
There is a moral, or a message, in every story.
My own words of advice are this…It’s important to be cautiously optimistic. Don’t believe everything you see, and don’t believe everything you’re told. And, however nice someone appears to be across an app, it’s impossible to tell what someone is really like until you meet them. The most important thing is to have self-respect, and never feel afraid of walking away from a situation, or settling for less than you deserve.
The stories have been submitted by women aged from their 20s to their 70s.
If you would like to submit your own story to Oh Gabriel, please email me, fran@freeridemedia.co.uk
Below are the submission guidelines (a few pointers!).
In the meantime, keep in touch via Oh_Gabriel_Blog on Instagram where I will be posting the latest stories and associated musings!

Submission Guidelines
Have a read of a few stories so you get a feel for the style of them.
Keep your story to a maximum of 500 words; if you feel the experience warrants a part two or three, feel free to give it a go, or write it in one story and leave it to me to separate.
Stories should be short and snappy to ensure maximum impact and engagement; use short sentences, cut out any details which don’t add much to the story.
The sexy time can be included, but this needs to be toned down for Oh Gabriel online; if I get a book deal, all the squelchy bits will be included then!
Write from the heart. This is your chance to have a voice and share your experiences with other women who are going through the same thing so enjoy getting it out!
Don’t overthink it, just write, let it flow out of you!
One more thing; as editor, I will sort out the grammar and punctuation and will edit to ensure it flows and suits the Oh Gabriel style, but my approach is to edit as little as possible so each writer retains their voice.
